State Representative Jason Villalba visited with the students and faculty of Withers Elementary this morning as an honorary “Principal for a Day.”
The “Principal for a Day” project is a Dallas ISD program that helps connect students with civic leaders and businesses to form partnerships, bring awareness to issues at public schools, and improve public education.
Previous program participants have included Bill Cosby, the late President John. F. Kennedy, and local news anchor Clarice Tinsley.
This morning, Rep. Villalba read morning announcements with Principal Connie Wallace, observed teachers, discussed leadership with the Withers student council, and spoke at a special assembly in honor of the event. Dallas SWAT and fire teams also gave demonstrations at the school. See more pictures from the event here.
