Preston Hollow neighbor and former President George. W. Bush accepted an invitation to appear on The Tonight Show with Jay Leno show on Tuesday. Bush, joined by his wife Laura, answered the talk show host’s questions and even joked with Leno, telling him “you’re about to head out to pasture, and I just wanted to see what you looked like before you got to the gate.”

Steve Blow mused over the origins of Preston Road, the busy thoroughfare that runs through most of Preston Hollow. The road was named “Preston” initially because it led to the settlement of the same name in the 1840s. Why the settlement itself was given the name remains a mystery to this day and is a subject of debate for some Dallas historians.

This week, networks began airing holiday advertisements for Plano-based company J.C. Penney that were filmed in Preston Hollow and Munger Place. Plus, the carolers featured in the commercials are Dallas locals as well.
