Swimmer and four-time Olympic gold medalist Lenny Krayzelburg has earned numerous accolades for his back stroke prowess since competing in the 2000 and 2004 Olympics. Since then, Krayzelburg has been opening up a dozen swim school academies across the country. The Jewish Community Center (JCC) will be home to his latest swim school beginning in March, and Krayzelburg himself is slated to be on hand for the kick off, to be held March 9-11.

The year-round swim program, dubbed the LK Swim Academy, will offer classes for students as young as three months old through adults. Designed by Krayzelburg, the core purpose of the swim school’s teaching ethos is “to inspire water safety and increase self-confidence and independence,” according to the website. Krayzelburg will be present for a free meet-and-greet at The JCC on Sunday, March 9, from 1:30-2 p.m. There will also be free swim evaluations on all three days, but those require an RSVP to aquatics director Daniel Taylor. Call Daniel at 214.239.7141 or email dtaylor@jcc.org to RSVP.
