"To Produce a Dream"

A gallery exhibit featuring the works of Dallas artist Brent Kollock titled, “Seeing in the Dark: New Drawings,” begins today at Norwood Flynn Gallery. On Saturday at 8 p.m., Kollock will visit the gallery to discuss his artwork. Call 214.351.3318 for additional information. Admission is free.

PolyphonyPolyphony Foundation, a unique nonprofit school based in Israel that aims to bring unity to Jews and Arabs through the power of music, will perform at 8 p.m. this Thursday at SMU’s Caruth Auditorium. A string quartet with two Arab and two Jewish musicians will perform, along with singer songwriter David Broza. Tickets cost $40 and are available for purchase online here.

Beginning this Friday at 11 a.m., the Pollock Gallery at SMU will host a new exhibit titled, “Extended Temporalities,” featuring the works of Vancouver-based artist Jin-me Yoon. According to the SMU website, Yoon’s time-based works are part of an ongoing series of video/performative works that “illuminate how Yoon’s physical actions invoke submerged histories of trauma, forge a relationship between past and present and employ the body in the creation of ephemeral acts of commemoration.” Call 214.768.4439 or click here for hours and additional information.
