Given that it’s Wednesday, you could probably use some good news. Well, you’re in luck. The Dallas Foundation recently awarded more than $1.2 million to 30 local non profits. The Family Place, which operates its resale shop in Preston Hollow, was one of the deserving grantees.

Since 1978, The Family Place has provided victims of domestic violence with shelter, legal aid and counseling services. Last year, 11,523 people turned to the organization for support.

Want to get involved? The nonprofit runs a resale shop on Marsh Lane and is always looking for donations. Gently used furniture, clothing and collectibles can be dropped off at the store during business hours. If you’re a bargain hunter, consider scouring the shop. All proceeds go toward the organization. Clients of The Family Place are also given vouchers to use at the store, so your donated goods are sure to be loved.
