Police arrested 17 year old Marcos Andres Jimenez yesterday, Dec. 21, in connection with the murder on Hurley Way. The Dallas Morning News reports he is a student at Newman Smith High School in Carrollton. His bond is set $1,000,000.

According to the Dallas Police Department, Jimenez convinced “witnesses” to take him “to a medical facility to treat a deep laceration to his finger” on Dec. 6. He initially claimed the injury was from a fence, but later told the witnesses he had murdered a man. He threatened to murder them, too, if they breathed a word.

The witnesses did not take Jimenez’s confession seriously until he asked them on Dec. 18 how long an individual could live after being stabbed in the neck. He then “showed one of the witnesses a bag that contained prescription medication and jewelry.” That individual snapped a picture of the meds on his/her phone and went to the address printed on the label.

The witnesses arrived at the home in the 9900 block of Hurley Way on Dec. 20 and discovered the back door was open. Inside they found “a large amount of blood in the kitchen.” A man, who appeared to have been stabbed to death, was lying in a hallway. They immediately called 911. The Dallas Police say “the victim has not been positively identified at this time.”
