A 92-year-old woman who was hospitalized after being robbed at a grocery store is a Preston Hollow resident, according to an email from the Northaven Park Neighborhood Association.

The woman was robbed in the mid-afternoon of Oct. 5, according to a Dallas Police Department news release. As she walked toward the entrance of Tom Thumb at the 3700 block of Forest Lane in Garland, a man riding a bicycle grabbed her purse. The force of incident caused the woman to fall and injure her hip.

She was taken to a nearby hospital where she remains, according to the neighborhood association’s email.

The man is described as an 18- to 20-year old black male that is roughly 150 pounds. He wore a white T-shirt with a Michael Jordan logo on the front, black jeans and a black backpack.

According to a Fox4News article, robberies and similar crimes have become more frequent in the area.
