If holiday music gives you headaches and Christmas shopping leads to nightmares, here are three weekend events that have nothing to do with Santa Claus, sugar plum fairies and snowmen.

This Saturday, peruse arts, crafts and books at Good Local Flea, organized by Good Local Markets. The one-day event held at Half Price Books’ community room is open from 3-9 p.m. Get all the details here.

The Dallas Opera will perform “Three Little Pigs” on Saturday at NorthPark Center.  The children’s production, which emphasizes the importance of reading, begins at 2 p.m. Find more information here.

Take the little ones to the Preston Royal Library for Sunday Adventures from 3:30-4:15 p.m. Crafts, games, stories and educational activities will be geared toward children in preschool and elementary school. Learn more here.

If you’re still counting down the days until Christmas or Hanukkah, here is a list of 23 events published in the Advocate’s December edition, and here’s a few more that weren’t featured in the magazine.
