LYFE stands for Love Your Food Everyday (a bit grammatically incorrect, but we’ll take it)

Many of us remember the horrifying experience of watching Morgan Spurlock’s “Super Size Me” or the 2008 documentary “Food, Inc.” for the first time and the subsequent realization that the majority of what we eat is, well, gross.

Then the concept of healthy fast food was born, allowing us to grab meals on the go without feeling quite as guilty. In 2008, the Advocate chronicled the trendy restaurants that found a home in our neighborhood, which you can read here.

The trendy cafes were doing something right, because Modmarket and Snap Kitchen  are still open eight years later. Other variations of the same concept, like Flower Child, are flocking to our neighborhood, too.
