Parents are mentally preparing for their children’s inevitable sugar high. Twenty-somethings are debating the best bars to show off their costumes, and the rest of us have stocked up on candy to distribute to trick-or-treaters.

Halloween, which is perhaps America’s strangest holiday, has arrived, with weather befitting the gloomy holiday. If you haven’t finalized your plans, here are some options in the neighborhood:

  • It’s the final day to see NorthPark Center’s pumpkin patch at CenterPark Garden. More than 25 types of corn, gourds and pumpkins are on display.
  • Show off your best ensemble at Inwood Tavern during Halloween Scaryoke, slated from 10 p.m.- 2 a.m. The event includes drink specials, karaoke and, of course, a costume contest.
  • Interabang Books is doling out candy to visitors until 7 p.m. People decked out in Halloween attire also are eligible to win prizes.
