Preston Hollow home severely damaged after electrical fire

A Preston Hollow home was nearly destroyed Dec. 25 in the 10000 block of Gooding Drive.

An electrical short in the attic triggered the blaze, which broke out at 9:45 p.m. The homeowner escaped uninjured, but several of her cats still are missing.

Putting out the fire proved difficult because of “an excessive accumulation of belongings,” Dallas Fire-Rescue spokesman Jason Evans told the Dallas Morning News. It took firefighters roughly an hour to extinguish the blaze.
