The Jewish Community Center now is offering a free parenting class that reviews everything from stages of development to stress reduction.
Babies and Bagels, which is open to the public, meets at 11 a.m. the second and fourth Wednesday of the month at the Tycher Library.
J Baby program coordinator David Stanton hopes that the class mitigates isolation new parents often feel.
“Our goal was really to create a positive space for parents to come together and connect, especially since nowadays people can be so far away from their families and support networks,” he says.
Licensed mental health counselor Carol Blanchard will provide tips for balancing marriage and caring for a child on Feb. 14. Speech-language pathologist Julie Liberman will talk about how to encourage babies’ speech development on Feb. 28.
