Now through May 6, NorthPark Center shoppers will be able to explore fashion that uses vegan and synthetic surrogate materials to mimic animal skins.

The art exhibit “Faux Real: Fashion Inspired By Nature,” is on display near level one between Neiman Marcus and Dillard’s. It displays 15 ensembles made of only vegan and synthetic surrogate material to highlight how designers have contributed to the conversation of humans’ relationship with the world.

All ensembles look and feel like real animal skins, but with greener materials.

The exhibit is on loan from the Texas Fashion Collection at the University of North Texas. The exhibit’s curator Annette Becker will lead a tour of the pieces at 11 a.m. April 27.
