Jenna Bush Hager calls former President George W. Bush on his birthday

Happy birthday to our neighbor and former President George W. Bush.

Daughter Jenna Bush Hager and her Today show co-host, Hoda Kotb, called our neighbor to wish him a happy 75th birthday.

“Oh man, how lucky am I?” Bush said when he saw his daughter and Kotb on FaceTime.

Kotb asked him how he was feeling. “Well it just seemed like yesterday I felt like I was 74,” he said.

“He doesn’t care about his age,” Bush Hager said before the call. “I think it allows him to be a little bit grumpier, which is a good thing for him.”

Bush isn’t playing golf today, but he plans to tomorrow.

During the call, Bush Hager remembered a previous birthday party they held for her father. It was a surprise celebration at Camp David, and some of the former president’s friends from Midland were invited.
