A small business that a University Park parent recently started produces treats that are diabetes-friendly.

Sarah Beddoe launched Love, Liv Bakeshop, which produces cookies and cupcakes out of an Irving facility.

“Liv” is for Olivia, Beddoe’s daughter, who was diagnosed with type-1 diabetes at age 3.

All of the treats contain less than 15 grams of carbs, no sugar, are allergen free and have little-to-no glycemic impact, according to a media release.

The bakeshop will offer delivery on demand and retail take-and-bake products beginning in late spring.

Beddoe is a former brand-marketing executive who was inspired by her daughter’s diagnosis to “transform the dessert market one cookie and cupcake at a time.”

“Cookies and cupcakes are a staple at many celebrations, such as birthdays and holiday parties, so I wanted to be able to provide treats for those that follow a low-carb, low-sugar or gluten-free diet and allow them to celebrate special moments alongside their friends and family,” Beddoe stated in the release. “We’re thrilled to offer our new line of delicious, flavor-packed desserts to the Dallas-Fort Worth community in the months ahead.”

Love, Live Bakeshop recently tested its first line of cookies: Birthday Cake, Peanut Butter Chip, Super Red Velvet and Chocolate Chip.
