Tiferet Israel Congregation, a modern Orthodox synagogue on Hillcrest Road, is chalk full of events for the holiday season.

The synagogue is celebrating Hanukkah on December 21 at 5:30 p.m. with a dinner, candle lighting and special presentation by Tiferet Israel’s Pitzel Puppet Players. Tickets are $10 for adults, $5 for children and $30 for families.

Tiferet’s Mitzah of the Month is Undies for Everyone. The synagogue is collecting underwear for all sizes and genders through Amazon Wish List. Those wishing to donate can visit the online wishlist, check the ‘This is a Gift”box, and include Tiferet Israel’s information.

Wring in the new year with Knot Night at Tiferet Israel. The virtual social hour will be on January 4 at 4 p.m., and is open to any age and gender. Those wishing to participate should bring their own knitting, crochet, macrame or embroidery projects.

Later in the spring, Dallas Kosher Chili Cook-Off is bringing a chili tasting, kosher food court, children’s carnival and live music to Tiferet Israel. The cookoff will be held on March 19 at 11 a.m.
