An 11-year-old boy was killed in a shooting that happened Saturday morning in Preston Hollow.
The shooting happened around 2:15 a.m. on the 6400 block of Royal Lane. Officers arrived at the scene and found the boy and his mother had been shot. The boy died at the scene, according to police.
The boy was identified as Jeremiah Green by his grandmother, according to a report from WFAA. His mother was taken to the hospital in stable condition.
Jakeith Huntley, 30, was identified as the shooter and was the ex-boyfriend of the boy’s mother. Huntley has since been arrested by Dallas Police and booked into Dallas County Jail on a capital murder charge, according to authorities.
