One student was shot during a shooting outside of Thomas Jefferson High School this afternoon.

Dallas police responded to reports of a shooting at 4001 Walnut Hill Ln around 4:40 p.m., a few minutes after school was dismissed for the day.

The cause of the shooting has not been confirmed, but according to a report from WFFA, the incident appeared to have started from a fight between two students in the parking lot of the school.

The unidentified student was taken to the hospital with a non-life-threatening wound in their arm.

As of now, there is no information on the suspect. It has not been confirmed if the shooter was a student or not.

This comes a day after a shooting at Lamar High School in Arlington where one student was injured and one killed. 16-year-old Ja’Shawn Poirier was taken to the hospital in critical condition where he later died and was identified.

The motive for the shooting has not been announced.
