The Scott Murray Leadership Fund, which awards grants to highly motivated students who intend to pursue higher education, is granting Dr. Kenneth Cooper and his wife, Millie, the Legacy of Leadership Award.

Cooper, known for his work in health and fitness and coining the term “aerobics,” is the founder and chairman of Cooper Aerobics on Preston Road. Cooper Aerobics is home to Cooper Clinic and additional health and wellness companies.

The Coopers have been dubbed the “Father” and “First Lady” of aerobics. Millie has also been a promoter of children’s health and fitness and is the co-author of Aerobics for Women.

The Coopers will receive their award during The Scott Murray Leadership Fund Gala May 3 at the Frontiers of Flight Museum at Love Field.

The gala will feature dinner, a program and live auction to raise funds for the students served by the Scott Murray Scholarship Fund and the contributions of our North Texas community.

More details about the gala and tickets can be found on the event website.
