A few updates to the Preston Royal signal lights began this week with the removal of a tree on-site by the City Arborist’s contractor.

Clearances have also been given by the city to begin drilling starting next week (weather permitting). A deep foundation is required to support the post and mast arm for the new signal.

There have been several delays to the 2019 tornado-damaged traffic signal projects at Preston-Royal and Midway Road and Killion Drive.

According to this month’s District 13 newsletter, the city’s transportation department is “pleased with the assigned contractor’s quality of work” and acknowledged the difficulty of maintaining a crew capable 0f the “long list of signal installations all over the city (including the Killion, Midway and Rosser and Royal signals).”
