A group of St. Mark’s School of Dallas faculty and staff recently traveled to the International Boys’ School Coalition Annual Conference in Auckland, New Zealand.

From July 5-8, over 600 students from 125 schools were hosted by Westlake Boys High School, under the conference motto “Kia Moemoeā,” or Māori for “Dream beyond limits”

With 11 members in the St. Mark’s delegation, faculty members learned practices from educators around the world, while sharing some of their own. One presentation shared by St. Mark’s faculty was Orchestra Director Sarah Choi’s “Pushing Beyond the Rehearsal Room: Strategies for a Thriving Boys’ Orchestra Program.”

A highlight of the conference came with a keynote address from Sir Graham Henry, who coached the New Zealand All Blacks to a Rugby World Cup title in 2011.
