Dallas police officers responded to a report on a stolen U-Haul truck and led to a pursuit near Love Field on Tuesday afternoon.

According to Dallas police chief Eddie García, officers investigated a report about a stolen U-Haul truck around 11 a.m. around Northwest Dallas in the 7200 block of Lemmon Ave, near West University Blvd.

The suspect in the stolen vehicle purposefully rammed into a police car and other cars during the chase. A pursuit ensued and the man exited the vehicle and ran towards a building near Dallas Love Field. Before he could enter, the suspect fired at the officer and the officer returned fire. The man was wounded and taken into custody with non-life-threatening conditions. None of the officers were injured.

The investigation is ongoing and a press conference will be held on Friday with more information.
