Broadway Dallas is showcasing its annual ‘Give A Kid A Seat‘ community initiative with an installation displayed at the Galleria in August.

Every year, Broadway Dallas offers thousands of students in underserved neighborhoods the opportunity to experience live theater productions. These students eagerly attend lively performances and engage with Broadway Dallas teaching artists in a STEAM-based curriculum. In the previous year, the program enabled students to enjoy the popular musical, ‘Ain’t Too Proud – The Life and Times of The Temptations.’

“Through theater, we can bridge different cultures, share new perspectives, inspire imagination, and provide a platform for experiencing and processing complex emotions,” Broadway Dallas president and CEO, Ken Novice, says. “Give A Kid A Seat provides a chance to offer a fresh perspective to a young mind.”

Throughout this month at the Galleria, visitors can explore the installation on the Gallery Wall located on Level 1, opposite the Apple store. The display features two North Texas high school students celebrating achievements in musical theater. Additionally, the Gallery Wall provides insight into the history of the “Give A Kid A Seat” initiative and encourages prospective donors to contribute through a QR code. Each $100 raised will provide one student with a seat at the theater, and other donation amounts are also accepted to support entire classes.

Broadway Dallas takes immense pride in entertaining over 300,000 audience members and making a positive impact on more than 40,000 community members through ambitious programs like “Give A Kid A Seat.”

The installation will be available for viewing until Aug. 28.
