The North Texas Food Bank’s annual Canstruction returns to NorthPark Center from Aug. 26 -Sept. 10.

Sculptures made from cans will be on display in the mall that shoppers can vote on as the winner. There will be 22 “cansculptures” on view.

This year’s theme is DepART from Hunger. Each piece will be based on a different work of art. Last year’s competition collected more than 89,000 cans of food for families facing hunger, according to Canstruction Dallas.

At the conclusion of the competition, all food cans from the sculptures will be distributed to the North Texas Food Bank. This year’s fundraising goal is $22,000.
