Joggers, dog-walkers, and bikers alike enjoy the Northhaven Trail in the Prestonwood neighborhood. Friends of Northaven successfully pushed for the construction of a bridge over the Central Expressway that will allow a continuous connection of the trail.

We’re just shy of the holiday weekend ahead, and there’s an ample amount of fun activities happening in our neighborhood. Labor Day also rings in as the unofficial end to summer, but unfortunately, the high heat stakes are still coming in hot. Besides the traditional barbecue and pool parties, here are other opportunities to cool off this weekend.

  1. North Haven Gardens

North Haven Gardens hosts two free programs on vegetable gardening and how to repair plants from summer’s heat. For both class schedules and information, visit their website

2. Frontier of Flight Museum

Soar through the weekend with a visit to the Frontier of Flight Museum with exhibitions over space flight and aviation history.

3. George Bush Museum

The George W. Bush Presidential Center is another great North Dallas museum that has current exhibitions over A Century of Aggie Football and Marine Corps art. Both exhibitions can be found on their website.

4. Fish City Grill

Enjoy the four new menu items at Fish City Grill and Half Shells that are available at all locations.
