Two new la Madeleines join the Dallas-Fort Worth metroplex and the first will open in the Preston Center Pavilion shopping center with a grand opening on Wednesday, Nov. 8 at 7 a.m.

The French-founded and French-owned bistro chain continues its expansion in the metroplex with one new location opening in Preston Hollow and the other opening in Dallas Cowboys owner Jerry Jones’ new development in Prosper. A Rompre le Pain or “to break the bread” and the ribbon-cutting ceremony will commence at noon with the North Dallas Chamber of Commerce.

“Preston Hollow and Prosper are prime locations to give locals a little escape to France with classic pastries and authentic French recipes,” la Madeleine chief operating officer, Christine Johnson, said. “For over 40 years, la Madeleine has been a treasured part of the Dallas-Fort Worth community and we’re grateful for the warm reception of these new locations.”

The French café, which originated in Dallas in 1983, with the first location on Mockingbird Lane, now boasts over 80 locations across nine states. The new Preston Center location covers 2,800 square feet. The first 100 guests at both grand openings will receive free bread for one year, and all guests will enjoy a complimentary baguette on opening day while supplies last.

The second location will open on Wednesday, November 15, in Prosper, inside the Gates of Prosper, Jerry Jones’ new development. The Prosper location will be nearly 5,500 square feet and feature indoor and outdoor seating, marking the city’s first la Madeleine. This is the fourth café opened by franchise owner Dan Rizvi.

“As someone who has been a loyal customer of the la Madeleine brand long before becoming a franchisee, I believe that Prosper residents will embrace having this beloved North Texan concept as their new dining option, which offers authentic French cuisine along with our signature personalized service,” Rizvi said.

Both cafes will offer the same menu, dine-in, to-go, delivery options and operating hours as other la Madeleine locations.

“We congratulate multi-unit franchisee Dan Rizvi for opening his fourth cafe,” Johnson said. “It’s an important time for our brand as we continue to bring the la Madeleine joie de vivre, joy of life, to more and more communities across the nation.”
