The Dallas Mavericks and Ruthie’s For Good team up to help the community and nonprofits by providing meals in a new initiative.

Ruthie’s, a food truck business that gives employees who have been in the criminal justice system a fresh start. The Mavericks will be part of Ruthie’s Snacks of Kindness to spotlight the efforts to make North Texas a better place.

“We appreciate the spirit of social enterprises and cause-based companies looking to create a greater good here in North Texas,” Maverick chief impact officer, Katie Edwards, said. “We are excited to sponsor the Ruthie’s ‘Fueled by Good’ food truck and align our brand with a company that shares our values and commitment to giving back. Through each of our ‘Snacks of Kindness’ events, we look forward to delivering tasty meals and smiles across the community.”

The Mavericks and Ruthie’s hosted their first Snacks of Kindness event on Nov. 20 by feeding Fort Worth law enforcement officers in the east division as a thank you for keeping the community and roads safe during the holiday season. Players from the team choose community outreach opportunities.

”Teaming up with the Dallas Mavericks is literally a dream come true!” Ruthie’s For Good founder and CEO Ashlee Kleinert, said. “By ourselves, Ruthie’s can feed people and lift spirits on a small scale. Yet together, we can do so much more. The Dallas Mavericks are a world-class organization full of people who passionately care about our community and impacting change for good.”
