The Dallas Foundation announced the 2023 recipients of the Mary M. Jalonick Women’s Philanthropy Institute grants, awarding $150,000 to The Bridge and $50,000 each to Ebby’s House, Frazier Revitalization and VNA Meals on Wheels.

Every year, the Women’s Philanthropy visits four to five nonprofits in the area, learning about each organization. Members then vote on the agency to receive grants from the Mary M. Jalonick Women’s Philanthropy Institute Fund, held at The Dallas Foundation.

“The Women’s Philanthropy Institute at The Dallas Foundation leverages the power of relationships by uniting women philanthropists who want to learn about the issues facing Greater Dallas. Through this program, these caring and dedicated women gather, educate themselves on our community’s most impactful nonprofits and pool their resources to make a difference,” said Julie Diaz, Interim President and CEO of The Dallas Foundation.

Members actively contribute to raising the grant money, with over 200 women participating in the program and activities over the last ten years. The Institute has granted over $1 million to the community and received an additional $20 million in personal support from members.

“The connections that members of the Women’s Philanthropy Institute build with these organizations and with one another form a community of change-makers poised to leave a lasting impact on Greater Dallas,” Diaz said.

The Institute originated from proactive engagement by women donors interested in addressing community needs.
