After two weeks of construction, Dallas Love Field reopens its Lil’ Love Lounge with new updates with the Dallas Mavericks’ Champ in attendance.

A ribbon cutting on Saturday, April 13, marked the airport’s reopening of its Lil’ Love Lounge, a designated children’s play area located in the stem portion of the concourse. Through a partnership with the Mavericks and UT Southwestern, the lounge now features new updates including wall-mounted activities and sensory toys.

The lounge now sports a Mavericks comic book theme with pop-art, fun facts about the hometown team and other NBA-related statistics on the walls. UT Southwestern, the project’s other sponsor, contributed sensory toys and activities to move more towards inclusivity and children with disabilities.

“Our goal with the Lil’ Love Lounge is to provide families with a comfortable and enjoyable space at Dallas Love Field,” Patrick Carreno, airport director, said. “We’re thrilled to reintroduce this space with exciting new features that align with our commitment to accessibility and inclusivity.”

Additionally, shoe lockers have been installed to provide a convenient and hygienic solution while reducing tripping hazards. The Dallas Public Library partnered to donate a wide selection of free books for children to read in the lounge or take with them on their flight.

The Lil’Love Lounge is an extension of other family-friendly amenities in the terminal, such as the mother’s room for nursing mothers and family restrooms with oversized changing tables.

“We extend our heartfelt gratitude to our partners for their continued support and collaboration,” said Carreno. “We invite travelers to explore the newly renovated Lil’ Love Lounge and experience firsthand the enhancements designed to make their journey more enjoyable.”
