The Compass School of Texas recently announced an inaugural advisory council last week, which aims to strengthen curriculum design, pedagogical approaches and organizational structures as the school expands.

“Each member provides valuable expertise and knowledge while guiding the school’s efforts to innovate its curriculum and strengthen organizational structures while upholding the school’s core values of community, family, leadership, purpose and resilience,” a news release stated.

The advisory council includes former St. Mark’s School of Texas headmaster Arnold Holtberg, The da Vinci School founders Mary Ann and Stan Greene, retired St. Mark’s and Episcopal School of Dallas educators Barbara and Michael York, tech entrepreneur and experienced school board of trustees member Larry Lacerte, sculptor George Tobolowsky, and The Compass School of Texas leaders Shelly Sender and Katie Townend Doherty.

Together, the advisory board brings leadership experience from nearly all neighborhood private schools, including St. Mark’s School of Texas, The da Vinci School, the Episcopal School of Dallas, The Lamplighter School, Christ the King Catholic School, Temple Emanu-El’s early childhood education program, The Hockaday School, Addison’s Greenhill School and Plano’s John Paul II.

The Compass School of Texas is located at 5414 W Northwest Highway, and is currently planning to expand to teaching Pre-K through eighth grade.
