The Compass School of Texas is hosting its inaugural spring auction concert to celebrate Texas Independence Day on Mar. 2.

As one of Dallas’ newest independent schools, Compass opened last August for the fall semester. The concert will mark both the school’s first spring concert and Texas Independence Day with country music and dancing.

“This is The Compass School of Texas’s first big event, and we are so excited to bring our community together,” founder president of the board for the school, Francis Harrison, said. “Seeing as the school is still small, there is something so special about all of the extended Compass friends who have come together to help make all of this happen.”

The concert will feature performances by Academy Award, Golden Globe, and Grammy award winner Ryan Bingham, along with the Ray Johnson Band. Bingham, a Texas native and Compass supporter, has recently contributed to the North Texas community through his acting role in “Yellowstone” and the launch of his own whiskey brand, Bingham Bourbon.

“Ryan has been a supporter from the beginning,” Harrison said. “He was part of our launch committee which helped raise the crucial funds for the school to open, and has now offered to play for our first auction.”

Attendees, including Compass families, donors, volunteers, and supporters, can enjoy barbecue, participate in a raffle and silent auction, and groove to live music.

“We would like for people to come together and enjoy an incredible event that supports a much needed school in Dallas,” Harrison said.

The new school follows a balanced approach to education, integrating inquiry-based learning with real-world experiences in the classroom. Currently serving pre-kindergarten through second grade, Compass plans to expand to eighth grade by 2029.
