U.S. 75 has reopened to traffic after an overnight fatal collision forced a portion of highway to close well into the early morning.

First responders were first notified of the incident at about 11:05 p.m. on March 18, according to a statement from DPD. Police say that upon arrival, officers discovered a female victim had been hit by multiple cars and died at the scene. Her identity has not been released.
Following the incident, southbound U.S. 75 was closed to traffic at Royal Lane, with drivers diverted to the service road before being allowed back on to the highway at Walnut Hill Lane.Â
The highway has reopened to traffic, TxDOT traffic cameras show as of 10:45 a.m.
