An organization focused on helping widowed women move forward with their lives will have its first seminar from 4:30 p.m. – 6:30 p.m. Sept. 11.

Widow’s Journey was started by Dallas Financial Planner Joy D. Kirsch after her husband committed suicide.

“Until I was widowed, I didn’t fully appreciate how grief could impair our cognitive abilities. In addition to the physical loss, widows have to address changes in their mental, physical, psychological, and physiological states. These changes can have a profound affect on our financial decision-making and how we approach the required administrative tasks,” Kirsch said in a press release.

The organization is focused on helping women through monthly seminars providing access to professional resources, social support and topics varying from emotional strength to financial acumen.

The seminars will be held on the second Tuesday of each month at the Park City Club in Dallas. Admission is $40 and includes heavy hors d’oeuvres and complimentary parking.
