A first-of-its-kind event featuring dancing and drumming in the park is coming to Preston Hollow.

Arts in the Parks will showcase performances from Brandan Koro African Dance & Drum Ensemble and Mitotiliztli Yaoyollohtli.

For more than 10 years, Brandan Koro has entertained audiences through African art forms. Mitotiliztli Yaoyollohtli is an Aztec dance company, performing drumming and dancing. The family of danzantes also provides a brief history of dance regalia and instruments.

The event will take place from 9-11 a.m. June 12 at the intersection of the Northaven Trail and Edgemere Thackery Street.

Friends of Northaven Trail is partnering with the City of Dallas Office of Arts & Culture and the Park and Recreation Department on the event.

Plans to expand the event to Churchill or Fretz parks are being considered.
