Preston Hollow Elementary has come a long way in a short amount of time. Its most recent recognition: the Texas Business and Education Coalition Honor Roll, awarded to fewer than 4 percent of public schools in the state. George Bannerman Dealey Montessori also received the honor.

You may recall our cover story in September 2009, which chronicled Preston Hollow Elementary’s dramatic improvement after principal Pete Chapasko took the helm in 2007. In just a few years, the school has gone from being on the verge of an “unacceptable” TEA rating to “exemplary.”
