This morning, LBJ Freeway shut down near Marsh Lane after a dump truck jumped the medium, crushing two other cars, killing two people. A third person was injured.

The tragic scene unfolded at about 10 a.m.

The truck was “known to have been a subcontractor” for the LBJ Express project.”

Andy Rittler, corporate affairs director for LBJ Express, released a statement about the incident:

“On behalf of the thousands of workers involved with the LBJ Express project, we wish to express our sincere condolences to the family, friends and loved ones of those lost and hurt in today’s accident. Though the investigation is ongoing, we can confirm that the trucking company involved is known to have been a subcontractor on the LBJ Express project. As our company and subcontractors assist the Dallas Police Department with its investigation of this accident we are committed to keeping drivers prepared and safe as they move through the construction zone.”
