Chef John Tesar of Spoon Kitchen serving up yummy eats at Burgers and Burgundy: Facebook

Liberty Burger, located at Inwood and Forest is donating $1 for every “limited time only” burger sold during the month of October to the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation. Unrelated, the location is also now open on Sundays from 11 a.m.-9 p.m.

The annual Burgers and Burgundy fundraiser was hosted by Chef John Tesar of Spoon Kitchen (on Northwest Highway and Preston) to benefit the Dallas chapter of DIFFA (Design Industry Foundation Fighting AIDS) was held last Sunday. Funds raised from the event support DIFFA/Dallas’s mission of serving those who are affected by AIDS and HIV across North Texas. Spoon Kitchen recently was awarded as the best seafood restaurant in Dallas by the Dallas Observer.

Today only, Sprinkles Cupcakes on Villanova and Preston is donating all proceeds from each pink ribbon strawberry cupcake sold to the Entertainment Industry Foundation’s women’s cancer research fund. Per Facebook, Sprinkles says:

Since 2005, Sprinkles Pink Ribbon cupcakes have raised $173,000 for Women’s Cancer Research. Our donations are funding EIF’s Biomarker Discovery Project, a multi-year effort to isolate a unique protein that would reveal the presence of breast cancer in a blood test and provide early detection of the disease.
