Medical City facility

Transwestern’s luxury apartments aren’t the only development plans in the works at the busy intersection of Northwest Highway and Preston.

Medical City Dallas has leased a 10,554-square-foot space in the Currin building at Preston Center, a 17,653 square-foot building located on 5974 W. Northwest Highway, highlighted in the aerial photo above.

The building currently houses AT&T, Wolf Camera, Spy Shop Centre, Vogue Cleaners, Tobacco Gallery, Schlotzsky’s, Travel Jewelry, and Carousel Nails.

“We have been looking for a site that would serve the Park Cities and Preston Hollow communities for a very long time,” says Lincoln Harris CSG senior vice president Rhodes Baker, who negotiated the lease for Medical City.

The facility marks the second small-scale Medical City facility with emergency services in the neighborhood. In October Medical City opened a children’s urgent care clinic on Northwest Highway and Hillcrest.

The Preston Center emergency care clinic will “improve the speed of service, reduce wait times, expedite care and time with the physician, as well as deliver the highest quality emergency care services,” according to the press release.

No word yet on when the facility will open. Bill Archer of CASE Commercial Real Estate negotiated on behalf of the landlord, Lobello Properties. Archer says that the existing businesses will need to be relocated to accommodate the new medical facility, and that will happen by early 2015. Earlier this month Travel Jewelry moved to 4152 Cole Avenue, Suite 102.

We’ll update this post as we learn more details about the plans for the medical office.
