Preston Hollow resident Laura Wilson’s photographs are on display at the Amon Carter Museum through February 14. But you don’t have to drive to Fort Worth to meet the artist.

Wilson, who reared three famous actors: Andrew, Luke and Owen, will speak at SMU’s Wiliam P. Clements Center for Southwest Studies on Dec. 2 at 5:30 p.m. She’ll discuss her latest book “That Day: Pictures in the American West.” Make sure to bring a copy to have autographed post-lecture. Check out our 2012 cover story, in which Laura Wilson shares what she enjoys most about her work: “I’ve always loved the magic of photography — that you could stop time, or attempt to stop time, and stave off the sense of loss.”
