Three things to do this weekend: visit a museum exhibit, attend an art class or see a concert

This Friday, visit Frontiers of Flight to browse its new historical poster exhibition “A Place for All People,” which examines African American culture. The exhibition is one of several nationwide events that celebrates the opening of the Smithsonian Institution’s National Museum of African American History and Culture. Get all the details here.

Renaissance man Tim Grimm performs at Uncle Calvin’s on Friday. Singer-songwriter Susan Cattaneo opens the show at 8 p.m., and tickets cost $15-$18.  Purchase them here.

Learn to draw at the Meadows Museum’s Drawing from the Masters class on Sunday. Artist Ian O’Brien leads a tour through the museum’s galleries before teaching techniques to improve your skills.
