There’s nothing particularly useful about them. They come out of the box for about a month each year and then go right back into storage. They can be ridiculously cheap (popcorn threaded onto string) or lavishly expensive (ever seen Christopher Radko’s more elaborate creations?). And many people, whether they hang them on the tree, put them up in the windows or suspend them from doorknobs, are obsessed with them. There’s an ornament devotee in almost every family and, luckily, there’s no shortage of adorable trinkets at a neighborhood store near you. Pictured here are ornaments ranging from $7-$12, available at Apples to Zinnias, 4024 Villanova in the Plaza at Preston , 214-361-2200.
