If you’re looking for a few ways to celebrate Earth Day April 22, here are a couple happenings here in our neighborhood:

Over at Foot Solutions in Preston Royal Village you can donate your old shoes to Soles4Souls, which will give them to victims of natural disasters, disadvantaged children, women in domestic abuse shelters, and the homeless around the world. It’ll help you get a leg up on your spring cleaning, it’s the ultimate form of recycling, and it’s a great way to help someone in need.

If you need a few ideas for how to “go green,” Current Energy has you covered with 22 eco-friendly products under $22 for the 22 days in April leading up to Earth Day.

You can also shop the new farmers market at Mockingbird Station’s Angelika Film Center from 4-8 p.m. Not only can you load up on locally grown organic produce, you can also pick up some tips on being more eco-friendly around your own home. And while you’re at Angelika, check out Disney’s new EARTH, a family-friendly educational film—just make sure you ask for the Earth Day Combo Special: popcorn and soda for $8.
