Sunday is going to be a pretty busy day for the Jewish Community Center of Dallas.

From 9 a.m. to 4 p.m., the JCC will host “Treasures in your Trunk,” a flea market of sorts, with vendors renting spaces in the center’s parking lot and selling items out of the trunks of their vehicles.

Money raised from the parking spot rentals will go to support the JCC’s youth department and its other educational programs.
While you’re there, go ahead and bring your sensitive documents that need to be destroyed, because from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m., it’s document shredding day. I hope they have one of those monstrous mega shredders like the Enron guys used. Those things are cool.

The JCC is also sponsoring another program Sunday afternoon, “Golden Years: Make them truly golden,” – a seminar for senior citizens and their adult children to provide solutions and resources for helping care for parents from a Jewish perspective.

Rabbi William Gershon will present a keynote address, followed by six breakout sessions led by doctors, rabbis, a lawyer and a representative from Jewish Family Services. The event is free and open to the public and runs from 1 to 4 p.m. at Congregation Shearith Israel.
