Vera Bangs and Vicky Riley will serve as co-chairs of this year’s Trains at NorthPark committee. The annual wintertime exhibition is a major fundraiser for the Ronald McDonald House of Dallas, which serves families of seriously ill or injured children receiving hospital treatment.
Pam Meyercord will serve as the 2009-2010 president of the Northwood Woman’s Club. The more than 400-member group raises funds for Dallas nonprofits dedicated to helping women and children.
Pat Peiser, founding and current Board member of Literacy Instruction for Texas, was recently awarded by two local organizations. She received the Distinguished Individual Service Award from the Women’s Council of Dallas County, and received the Maura Women Helping Women Award from the Women’s Museum. Peiser has been an activist for women’s rights in the Dallas area for more than half a century, has served as president of the National Council of Jewish Women, and she co-founded Safeguards for Seniors, which screens medications for older adults.
