Last night I got to judge the chili cook-off at Preston Hollow Elementary, my third year to have that honor, which officially makes me the school’s longest-running judge. I’ve now mastered the art of judging chili: it’s all in the sauce.
This year, the school added a Veterans Day assembly to the night of festivities. After several years as a military spouse, the salute was especially heartwarming (and adorable).
