A brand new local business, Champagne’s Luxe, just opened over the weekend at Lovers and Inwood. As the name suggests, the store specializes in luxury, high-end furniture, fine china and jewelry. Owner Susan Mueller has 30 years of experience in luxury retail.

But what has most neighbors buzzing is the store’s Tea Room that will be coming soon in about a month along with the official grand opening, says Julie Hughes, Champagne’s visual merchandiser. Inessa Stewart’s Antiques, which previously occupied the space, had a popular tea room so customer’s kind of missed it when it left. Hughes says that Champagne’s tea room will be more of an upscale version.

“We’ll be reinventing ‘high tea’ for women,” Hughes says.
