There’s a new brunch spot in the neighborhood come Jan. 1, but you’re probably already familiar with the place – MesoMaya.

The Mexican restaurant opened a few months ago at Preston and Forest under leadership of the folks behind El Fenix. They are now adding a brunch menu 10 a.m.- 2 p.m. Saturdays and Sundays beginning with the new year.

Dishes include chilaquiles rojos, chorizo con papas and huevos rancheros from chef Nico Sanchez.

The regular menu is pretty darn good, too. I’ve been itching to go back since my first try.
