Instead of leaving those Douglas Firs out on the curb to be picked up as trash, try recycling them through the city’s partnership with Home Depot.
Now through Jan. 2, you can bring Christmas tress to two Home Depot locations near our neighborhood – Forest and Central and Grissom near Forest just west of Webb Chapel. Remove all ornaments, tinsel and other items from the tree before dropping it off.
Donating used Christmas trees allows them to be turned into mulch, compost or fire logs.
