A few local organizations and schools are collecting donations for the victims of the massive explosion at West Fertilizer Company in West, Texas. As of this morning 12 people have been reported dead, and numerous amounts of locals are in need.

The Dallas County 4-H community will accept items for West victims 10:30 a.m.–5:30 p.m. April 20 at DUXIANA on 6134 Berkshire Lane. The supplies will be delivered this Sunday. Supplies needed: bottled water, toiletries, medical supplies, baby diapers, baby bottles, baby formula and air mattresses.

There are many reasons the Hillcrest High School community wants to help the victims of West, but being that its former principal Marty Crawford is the current superintendent of West ISD hit too close to home. Hillcrest students and the community will hold a supply drive for West ISD April 22 to May 3 where donations will be taken in room 100 of the high school. Suggested supplies include pencils, pens, paper, binders, gift cards and monetary doantions. Checks should be made out to “Point West Bank West ISD Disaster Fund.”
