A Preston Hollow mom says her daughter was mugged in the Preston and Royal Tom Thumb parking lot at about 6 p.m. April 18.
As her daughter stepped out of her car, which was near the front of the store, a man walked up from behind her, wrapped his arms around her, and stole her purse that contained a wallet, ID cards, credit card and iPhone 5, according to police reports.
Apparently the man ran off toward a car near the curb of an AT&T store, hopped in the passenger seat and the car took off.
The mom says about ten patrons came to her daughter’s aid, as well as a man who tried to chase after the mugger. Mostly, she says she just wants people to be aware of the situation.
